Difficulty: ★★★★☆
Korean Street Food-Style Toast
This time, instead of pancakes, we tried toasting bread! This toast is inspired by the kind you’d find at Korean street food stalls, where omelets and toast are cooked on the same grill.
Ingredients
- ・Bread (sliced in eight pieces)
- A pack of shredded cabbage mix: 140g
- Whole eggs: 110g (2 large-sized eggs)
- Salt and pepper: 3g
- Some ketchup
- Some granulated sugar
- 2 sliced cheese (per 4 slices of bread)
- 1 slice of ham (per 4 slices of bread)
- Some butter
[Omelets (for eight slices of bread)]
[Flavoring and toppings]
[For application on the copper cooking surface]
How to Make the Egg Mixture
Crack the whole eggs into the shredded cabbage mix, add salt and pepper, and mix it all together.
Grill this mixture on a hot plate, but be sure to mix it just before grilling to prevent it from releasing too much moisture.
How to Cook Korean Street Food-Style Toast
Set the Compact Pancake Cooker to 170°C and spread butter on the copper cooking surface.
Place an egg ring on the left side and pour in about half of the egg mixture, then place 4 slices of bread next to it.
Add ham on top of the egg mixture. Once the bread is lightly browned, flip the bread over.
Use a metal spatula to crease the bread diagonally, then place ketchup, granulated sugar, and halved slices of cheese on one side.
When the eggs are cooked to your liking, remove the egg ring, flip the eggs, and cut them into 4 equal parts.
Place them on top of the bread, fold it in half, and it’s ready!
It took about 5 minutes and 15 seconds in total to cook.

Extra insights
We also tried making French toast!
Soak a slice of bread cut in half in a mixture of eggs, milk, and sugar for about an hour. Set the temperature to 190°C and bake for 3 minutes (1.5 minutes per side).
This time, we experimented with bread instead of pancakes, creating the Korean street food-style toast we’d always wanted to try. Coordinating the timing of the eggs with the bread and toppings was a bit challenging, but it was a fun process!
Next time, we plan to bake pancakes instead of bread and recreate the Korean street food toast.
Stay tuned! ✨
