SHIMIZU SHOKUHIN CO., LTD.
SHIMIZU SHOKUHIN CO., LTD. was established in 1951. SHIMIZU has developed three business lines: A wholesale department that provides products which are meant to be consumed on the same day they are manufactured to local supermarkets and Consumer Co-ops as well as dorayaki to all over Japan and overseas; Kagura, two direct sales shops; and Sokiya, a souvenir shop within Hasshoku Center, which is a theme park for foods and a tourism facility in Hachinohe City. In 2006 when SHIMIZU built a new factory on the coast of Hachinohe and everything was starting to go well after new machinery had been prepared, the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011. The factory and offices suffered devastating losses.
In September 2012, SHIMIZU received support from an organization to provide rebuilding funds for those afflicted by the earthquake and were able to build factories including rebuilding of a factory in Hachinohe Green Hi-tech Land in 2013.

Full Automatic Dorayaki Machines
Taking advantage of the opportunity to build a new factory in 2013, SHIMIZU added Full Automatic Dorayaki Machines.
SHIMIZU showed eagerness for further increasing the number of machines. “MASDAC’s Dorayaki Machines are already highly automated, but automating batter depositing and packaging post-processes allowed us to efficiently manufacture with fewer operators. We’d love to increase the number of Dorayaki Machines in the future.” They also said, “There are a lot of areas we want to streamline such as loading red bean paste and cleaning. We’ll be looking forward to MASDAC’s propositions.”
