Miyakojimanoyukishio Co., Ltd.

Rooted in its salt production expertise, Yukishio has expanded into various related ventures, including specialty salt shops such as Shioya and the souvenir confectionery brand Yukishio Kabo.
Through Yukishio Kabo, the company offers a range of sweets, including Yukishio Sand, Yukishio Finan financiers, baumkuchen, and meringue cookies, as well as gaufrettes, rusks, and langue de chat produced by partner manufacturers. Each product is elegantly packaged in blue, inspired by the striking Miyako Blue.
Continuing its commitment to innovation and regional value, Yukishio has expanded into new businesses that showcase the charm of Miyakojima. It established the Yukishio Museum, where visitors can explore the salt production process and shop for exclusive products, as well as Shioya, a specialty store with both physical and online locations, born from extensive research on salt.
In 2013, the company launched Shima no Eki Miyako, a direct sales hub for local agricultural products, successfully branding Miyakojima Melon and enhancing its market appeal.
As Yukishio celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024, it is set to further develop its food business in Miyakojima with three key locations: a new factory shop, the Yukishio Museum, and Shima no Eki Miyako.
Each facility will feature a live kitchen, restaurant, and food education classroom, creating an environment where Miyakojima can foster world-class culinary talent.

System Depoly(SD3-1U45-P)

In October 2024, System Depoly was introduced to streamline the depositing process for Yukishio Finan. Since the end of the pandemic, order volume has increased fivefold, prompting the company to upgrade its depositing machine to boost productivity. Previously, a single-nozzle depositing machine from another manufacturer was used. However, with System Depoly’s six-row multi-depositing system, production efficiency has significantly improved. The new system has eliminated weight inconsistencies, reduced product loss, and increased output from 2,000 pieces per hour to 2,700-3,000 pieces per hour—a 1.5x increase. The confectionery factory operates with a team of about a dozen employees, who rotate roles in preparation and manufacturing, ensuring flexibility in production. As demand for Yukishio Finan continues to grow, the introduction of System Depoly allows the company to scale production without expanding its workforce. Alongside increasing output for its standard flavors, the company is also exploring new products featuring locally sourced ingredients.

  • Yukishio Finan is made with powdery salt from Miyakojima. Its moist texture, delicate saltiness, and rich butter aroma create a perfectly balanced flavor.
